It's #nationalcancersurvivormonth. Breast cancer survivors may have long-term side effects from treatment that include cardiovascular complications. Maintaining a healthy weight is important as weight gain may lead to a poor prognosis as it pertains to breast cancer and cardiovascular health, as well as diabetes, fatigue and poor quality of life.

Nutrition interventions can help to manage weight. A plant-based diet is recommended. A registered dietitian can help to make this shift manageable and dare I say enjoyable! I encourage adding servings of fruit, vegetables, whole grains, beans and legumes gradually. I encourage experimenting with new foods and recipes while taking each individuals taste preferences into account.

I offer free 15 minute initial consultations. Call me at 513-607-6659.
