New Mammogram Guidelines

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force has announced new guidelines for starting mammograms at age 40 and continuing every other year for women of average risk. If you have a family history of breast cancer, like I did, you may be encouraged to follow different guidelines and consider genetic testing.

Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death (behind skin cancer) and is treatable when caught early.
